GUZZLER RE-BUILD WITH WALKER RANGE FIRE PATROL STAFF – July 8, 2017
On Saturday 9 Bend OHA members came together to assist R.D. Buell, Walker Range Fire Patrol Association with a guzzler re-build on the Gilchrist State Forest. R.D. is the District Manager for W.R.F.P.A. and has been with the agency since 1977. He has also taken care of numerous guzzlers in the area for 25 years. R.D. is very dedicated to protecting the surrounding forest and keeping the guzzlers in working condition. He has spent many of his days off hauling water to guzzler tanks. He is a steward of the forest.

Members removed the old guzzler, installed new T posts and enlarged the apron area in attempts to capture more water to keep the tanks full longer. Bend OHA hopes to build on our relationship with Walker Range Fire Patrol Association and possibly assist with more guzzler re-builds in the future.
93 volunteer hours were spent on this project
